
Roland Guy has been involved in Emergency Medical Services for 25 years. He began his career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) working for several ambulance companies in the early to mid-1980’s. Roland graduated from Los Angeles County & USC Medical Center School of Nursing in 1992 specializing in Critical Care and Emergency Nursing. During the early and mid-1990’s, Roland worked as a Registered Nurse at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA. While there, he worked in various units including; Emergency and Trauma services, Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. During this time, Roland also became involved with the Los Angeles DMAT or Disaster Medical Assistance Team. This is a volunteer group of physicians, nurses and paramedics who are deployed to disasters throughout the country. While working with the Los Angeles DMAT, Roland was recruited to become a member of the National Response Team Anti-Terrorism task force.
In 1998, Roland relocated to Northern California to become a life-flight nurse with REACH air ambulance. Roland worked on the helicopter responding to trauma scenes and performing interfacility transports of critically ill patients for 4 years.
Currently, Roland works as a Registered Nurse for American Medical Response and is based out of Concord, CA. Roland is also a licensed paramedic and has developed an Advanced Life Support program for his local volunteer fire department in Walnut Grove.
Roland has also recently started his own business in partnership with Teresa Isbell, DDS. Their business, Critical Care Solutions provides comprehensive medical training, supplies and equipment that enable dental offices to properly diagnosis and treat medical emergencies. Additionally, they provide CPR training and Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) to general business and industry.
